The Domains X workshop will take place at Swansea University, Department of Computer Science,
Robert Recorde Room (2nd floor, Faraday Building).

The Faraday Building is 8.1 on the Campus map. For further maps of the campus have a look here.

En-suite - Accommodation

Check-in is in house Preseli (building 20 on the Campus map, 100m behind Fulton house, the central building on the campus where you always can ask and get information) from 2pm onwards until late. Late arrival is no problem as there is a porter present in Preseli 24 hours a day.
Note you also can already register for the workshop, in Fulton house, ground floor, Sunday evening 6-8pm.

Check-out is by 10am on the day you leave. There will be a place to store luggage.

Accommodation includes breakfast, which takes place in Fulton house (building 17), the central building on Campus.

Our accommodation (student rooms, small bathroom included in each room) moved to house Caswell (building 27 on campus map) which is close to the park, ie. hopefully very quiet.

Wireless: on Campus is available, please find the details in your registration package. There will be also accounts available in our computer room. Please ask at registration.
For UK participants: Swansea is part of the UK wide Eduroam wireless internet service, so you should be able to connect straight away if you are registered with Eduroam.

How to get to Swansea: (Please ask in case more detail is needed)
  • From London Heathrow: take either coach (direct connection, ~ 4 hours) to Swansea or take train (via London Paddington) or bus to Reading (< 1 hour, ~ every 20 mins) and then train (2.5 hours).
  • From Stansted Airport: takes a bit longer, but sometimes justifed by a cheap ticket. Train (goes via London - tube), takes 4.5 hours.
  • From Gatwick Airport: best via train.
  • From Bristol Airport: take airport bus (called flyer, ~20 mins) to Bristol Temple Meads, then train to Swansea (2 hours). (Or airport bus to central bus station (~30 mins), and then coach, eg, in case of late arrival.)

  • From Cardiff Airport: take shuttle (1km) to Rhoose (Cardiff International Airport)and then train (1.5 hours). 1 change in Bridgend. Train departs at: 5:12pm, 7:12pm, 9:12pm (last one). Alternatives:
    • Bus to Cardiff Central, and then train to Swansea.
    • Taxi: Please let us know if you arrive in Cardiff late and would like to take a taxi, maybe we can coordinate sharing of taxis. At the moment, we recommend that you simply take one of the waiting taxis and negotiate a price, say 70-75 pounds to Swansea University.

In Swansea: Upon arrival, best take a taxi to University, 5-7 pounds.
