The Annual Undergraduate Computer Science Colloquium at Gregynog
Synopsis: Since 1985, students and staff of the Computer
Science Department attend an annual 2-3 day Undergraduate Computer
Science Colloquium at Gregynog, the Conference Center near Newtown, Powys.
The aim of the colloquium is to provide:
An overview of Computer Science, its research and applications,
its history and future developements
An opportunity for every student to give a presentation about their
An open discussion between staff and students on education in
A reflection on career prospects for Computer Science students
Informal conversation between staff and students
Syllabus: The colloquim consists of:
Presentations by all students of their project work
Invited speakers from both acadamia and industry on various
aspects of Computer Science, including research,
commercial, and industrial topics
A review and discussion of the current state and future
development of Computer Science education at Swansea
An extreme student-staff sporting event, e.g., football
