FURTHER INFORMATION

CHI+MED

Based at the FIT Lab, the research officer will be part of an internationally-leading Human-Computer Interaction group within the CHI+MED project. CHI+MED is a major EPSRC funded research project that brings together researchers from UCL, Swansea University, Queen Mary University of London, and City University.

The post will be to work within Work Package 2 of the larger CHI+MED project; full details are available here.

Full information about the CHI+MED project is available at the project website.

This research post is part of a larger project, CHI+MED, that aims to improve the usability and safety of interactive medical devices. Improving the safety of interactive medical devices is a pressing area for research because even simple errors can result in incorrect treatment, or patient death. The work at Swansea is focused on understanding the details of interaction with devices and how they are programmed, taking a computer science view of their internal working.

Our work compliments UCL's which is exploring the factors that influence user slip errors (as opposed to mistakes due to lack of knowledge) when conducting interactive tasks.

The full proposal on which the CHI+MED project is based, is available here.
