Topic: About this bibliography

Research publications of Peter D Mosses

This bibliography is under development. When complete, it should provide convenient access to:

  • all bibliographic meta-data, including DOIs,
  • freely available electronic versions, and
  • forms for generating requests for copyright versions.

It can be browsed without registering; adding or changing entries requires login. See the Help pages for further information about Aigaion, the system used to implement the bibliography.

Topics

The bibliographic entries are classified by a hierarchy of topics. The number of publications on each topic is shown after the name of the topic. Clicking on a topic lists all its publications; searching for publications on combinations of topics is supported too. The listed publications can be sorted in various ways, and their meta-data exported to BibTeX or RIS. (Previously, publications had keywords as well as topic classifications, but all keywords have now been removed, and should be ignored if they appear in search results.)

The current organisation of the topic hierarchy is a tentative faceted classification. The facets are Form, Language, Meta-language, Theory, and Tools. Each publication is classified by all the relevant (minimal) subtopics of these facets. Note that publications about a meta-language are classified together with publications that use that same meta-language (and similarly for the other facets).

Authors

Clicking on an author lists all the publications of that author/editor, and may also provide a link to the author's home page.

Publications

Individual publications may have notes, e.g. indicating their status and relationship to other publications. A [DOI] link generally leads to a publisher's website, which usually gives access at least to the abstract of the publication; access to the full text may be restricted to subscribers. A [URL] link may either lead directly to a PDF, or to a website giving free access to the full text. An icon may lead to a page indicating how to obtain a copy of a restricted attachment; a [Request] link generates an email to the author.

Clicking on the title of a listed publication its complete details, including its topic classification. Its meta-data can be exported to BibTeX or RIS.

BibTeX

The aim is to provide high-quality BibTeX export:

  • Citation keys are formed systematically (usually from the last name of the first author, the full year, and the initial letters of the first 3 significant words in the title, e.g. Mosses2007VSP).
  • Crossref'ed entries are provided for all proceedings and collections. Note that editors are listed in a non-standard field (since Aigaion currently lists authors together with editors). Note also that (in contrast to DBLP) the booktitle field shows the date of the event, and crossref'ing entries do not override the year of publication.
  • Author names are properly divided into first name(s), von-part, and last name(s).
  • DOIs and URLs are exported together with other non-standard fields.

Development

This bibliography is nearly complete regarding meta-data of publications. Links to preprints are still being added. Notes indicating status and relationship to other publications will be added gradually. Links to pages for requesting restricted documents are currently shown only for a couple of recent publications; such links may later be generated automatically.
